Localisation specialist Jakub Blatný leading our vendor management team
Jakub Blatný (Hlaváček), a skilled localisation specialist with 16 years of experience, has been leading our vendor management department for almost a year. Jakub originally joined us in March 2023 as Senior Vendor Manager, but it soon became apparent that with his broad international and linguistic experience and friendly attitude, it would be a shame for both us and him if he didn’t get more space.
The vendor management department takes care of our vendors and Jakub has fully taken control after four months in the company. Besides managing his team, he also takes care of recruitment strategies and processes, vendor chain management, price negotiations, translator training, and quality control.
Languages and working with languages have been with Jakub all his life. He studied English and French with a focus on the European Union. He can communicate actively not only in English and French, but also in Spanish, thanks to his two-year stay in Argentina. What he especially loves about his work is learning about new cultures and people, diplomacy, and negotiation. One thing that drives him crazy, though, is working across time zones. “That’s what complicates my work most for me,” says Jakub.
After work, he enjoys time with his three retrievers. He is not only a breeder, but also a respected trainer. Dogs and animal wellbeing in general are areas he is interested and actively involved in. He also loves hiking and travelling and spends quality time in the mountains and at tourist destinations.
