Which Translation Conferences are the Ones to Visit in 2020?
As in previous years, we would like to share a brief overview of the most promising translation and localization industry events held this year.
So where is it worth going in 2020?
March
GALA 2020 (15-18 March 2020, San Diego, US) – the GALA Language of Business Conference is an annual meeting of translation industry experts organized by the GALA Globalization and Localization Association.

April
BP20 Translation Conference (23-25 April 2020, Nuremberg, Germany) – the most popular conference for freelance translators in Europe.

May
ELIA’S FOCUS ON EXECUTIVES (7-8 May 2020, Rhodes, Greece) – an event dedicated specifically to top managers in our industry.
June
LOCWORLD42 (3-5 June 2020, Berlin, Germany) on the topic: “Engage Global Users”.
August
Translation Forum Russia (21-23 August 2020, Kazan, Russia) – the most ambitious translation industry event in the post-Soviet area.
September
ALC Annual Conference (15-17 September 2020, Las Vegas, US) – organized by the Association of Language Companies (ALC), a US-based association representing businesses that provide translation, interpretation, localization, language testing and language training services.
Translation and Localization Conference (25-26 September 2020, Warsaw, Poland) – an extremely popular event across Central Europe, this year with the well-known motto: “Watson, come here, I need you.” For more details on this topic, please visit the conference website. This year also featuring the “Polish Day”, an event focused on interpreting.
Meet Central Europe (7-9 October 2020, Innsbruck, Austria) – this event is becoming more and more popular. Last year we successfully presented České překlady in Prague. Once again, the event focuses specifically on vendor management.

November
tcworld 2020 (3-5 November 2020, Stuttgart, Germany) – an event organized by TEKOM, the European Association for Technical Communication, based in Germany. This year’s motto is “New Learning – New Documentation”.
EAMT (between 2 and 6 November 2020 – to be detailed, Lisbon, Portugal) – a conference for localization professionals, translation tool experts, developers and machine translation users.
The Language Show (13-15 November 2020, London, UK) – where else should we finish this year’s conference season than in London and at its Language Show – an exhibition loaded with presentations, workshops, classes and interesting interviews for all language students, teachers and everyone who is in love with languages the way we are?
